I spent 20 years in the tech industry and a significant part of that time was spent hiring. I reviewed thousands of resumes, sat in hundreds of interviews, and made decisions that changed people's careers.

And I watched something happen over and over that I couldn't stop thinking about.

Talented, qualified people were getting rejected not because they weren't good enough, but because their resume failed an internal ATS scan before any human ever read it. We never even got to see them.

I knew those people existed. I knew some of them were better candidates than the ones who made it through. But the system filtered them out, and we missed them.

That bothered me enough to build something about it. I'm Jakob. HiredByFriday is the tool I wish those candidates had.
